Do you want to help build the technical foundation that powers the next generation of AI solutions at Mediahuis? As a Freelance Golang Developer, you'll develop robust platform services and microservices in Go, ensuring our AI applications can be deployed to production in a reliable, secure, scalable and cost-efficient way.
Within the AI Solutions Platform team, you'll contribute to the development and continuous improvement of our backend and platform services. While other developers build intelligent AI agents and the accompanying application logic, you'll create the solid technical platform that enables those solutions to run reliably at scale.
You'll design, develop, implement and maintain microservices in Go, working within an event-driven architecture where NATS plays a key role. You'll translate functional and technical requirements into robust, scalable solutions while actively contributing to architectural decisions, engineering standards and continuous improvements across the platform.

You'll join TPS, the international technology organisation of Mediahuis. Within the AI Solutions Platform domain, we're building the central platform that enables development teams to build, deploy and manage secure, reliable AI solutions.
You'll collaborate with software developers, platform engineers, architects, product owners and other technical stakeholders across multiple countries. We work in a hybrid setup, with regular collaboration from our Antwerp office (at least one day per week).
You have at least five years of experience in software development and a strong background in Go. You're experienced in designing and building backend APIs and microservices and feel comfortable working with distributed systems and event-driven architectures, preferably using NATS. In addition, you have experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, containerisation using Kubernetes and Docker, and Infrastructure as Code, for example with Terraform. You're also familiar with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews and scripting, such as Bash or Shell.
You look beyond simply writing code that works. You understand what it takes to build reliable, secure, scalable and maintainable solutions while keeping cost efficiency in mind. You have a structured and analytical approach, take ownership of your work and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You're fluent in English, while knowledge of Dutch is considered a strong plus.
