Generative AI is set to profoundly transform our industry in the coming years. To prepare for this, we have launched an AI investment program and established a dedicated organization to navigate and adapt our business in this evolving landscape. This initiative includes a GenAI studio, a team of specialists to rapidly build and scale solutions, dedicated product development resources, and a strategic team to ensure our AI objectives are met. Our ultimate goal is to position Mediahuis as a global leader in AI-driven publishing, reshaping how we create, distribute, and monetize content while building a future-proof organization. To lead this effort, we are seeking a strategic leader as our Head of AI Strategy.

Your impact

As the leader of the AI Board, you will oversee the AI investment program and ensure the successful integration of Generative AI solutions into our products and internal tools. You’ll set a clear vision for how AI will transform Mediahuis and the media industry, developing strategies that position us at the forefront of AI innovation in publishing. You'll drive innovative monetization and publishing strategies while adapting to the changing media landscape. Collaborating with AI experts, you'll monitor Generative AI advancements in the field and identify innovative applications for Mediahuis. In addition, you will lead the organization in adopting ethical, sustainable and responsible AI practices.

Your role includes:

Driving alignment across all senior leadership on AI priorities, ensuring the program aligns with Mediahuis’ strategic goals.
Building international partnerships with publishers, academic institutions associations, and tech companies to stay at the cutting edge of AI innovation.
Reporting to Mediahuis' CEO Technology while influencing senior leadership across the organization.
Managing legal and protective actions around copyright and intellectual property in Large Language Models and AI Assistants.
Driving cultural transformation by increasing AI literacy and readiness across teams, creating a roadmap for enterprise-wide AI adoption.

Specifically, you will lead a newly formed team dedicated to shaping and executing Mediahuis Group's AI strategy.

Furthermore experience in the following skills would help you get up to speed quickly:

Experience in strategic roles within international organizations, with proven ability to lead large-scale digital or AI-driven transformations.
A strong understanding of the media and publishing industries, including emerging trends in Generative AI and their potential disruptions on the media industry.
Passion in Data & Insights, Artificial Intelligence, and emerging technologies.
Preferably, a solid network in the AI application space or a background in tech entrepreneurship.
Experience building or scaling AI products that drive tangible business outcomes, such as new revenue streams or operational efficiencies.
Strong commitment to ethical AI practices and sustainable deployment of AI technologies.
A collaboritve mindset and a result-driven approach to work across editorial, technical and business teams in an international environment.
